CNC Milling

Precision Milling for Industrial, Commercial & Custom Parts

CNC milling is a machining process that uses computer-controlled rotating cutting tools to remove material from a workpiece. The result is parts machined to exact specifications: flat surfaces, complex contours, pockets, slots, holes, and features that can't be made any other way.

At Nitro Custom Works, our CNC milling capability handles jobs ranging from simple aluminum plates to complex multi-feature steel components. We work from your STEP files, 2D drawings, DXF files, or — for simpler parts — even a detailed sketch. Every part is inspected before it leaves our South Jersey shop.

We serve manufacturers, machine builders, automotive shops, engineers, and individuals throughout Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Salem Counties and the greater Philadelphia area.

FAQ

CNC Milling — Frequently Asked Questions

CNC milling is a precision machining process that uses computer-controlled rotating cutting tools to remove material from a workpiece, creating complex shapes, pockets, slots, and profiles. The machine moves on multiple axes (typically 3) to cut the part to the exact dimensions specified in your drawing or CAD file. It is one of the most versatile and widely used machining processes for metal and plastic parts.
We CNC mill aluminum (6061, 7075), steel (mild, 4140, 4340), stainless steel (304, 316), brass, bronze, cast iron, and engineering plastics like Delrin and nylon. Aluminum is our most commonly run material due to its excellent machinability. If your material isn't listed, contact us — we may be able to accommodate it.
For standard CNC milling work, we routinely hold ±0.005" without difficulty. For precision-critical features, we can achieve tolerances as tight as ±0.001" depending on the geometry, material, and part size. If your part has critical fits or mating interfaces, tell us when you request your quote and we'll make sure those features get the attention they need.
We accept STEP (.stp, .step), IGES (.igs), DXF, DWG, STL, and PDF drawing files. STEP files are preferred for 3D parts as they carry the most complete geometry information. For 2D parts, a DXF or a clear dimensioned PDF print works well. If you only have a sketch or a sample part, contact us — we can often work from those for simpler geometries.
We do both, with no minimum order quantity. One-off prototypes are welcome — we understand that R&D and engineering work requires fast, accurate single parts. We also run short and medium production quantities. Whether you need one part or fifty, send us your drawing and we'll quote it.
